I've got a friend/colleague who is coming into town all the way from the other side of the world. We'll be heading out saturday evening. She says she wants to do "something that is DC". The only thing that I could think of was;

1-getting stuck in traffic,
2-politics,
3-backstabbing each other as a result of #2:)

I had considered taking her out to the Mall and do some sightseeing but it gets dark quickly so that is out of the question and besides, we won't be meeting until the early evening.

I know dinner is on the agenda as we'll need to eat.

But any other recommendations for "something DC" ? I'd like to hear from other native Washingtonians on this one.
